    How scoring works

    The score

Every check gets a result. A pass is worth 1 point, a warning ½ point and a failure 0. The score is the points earned divided by the number of checks that count.

Some checks are informational: useful to know, but not a problem if missing. They appear as dim segments on the ring and don’t affect the score.

    The grade

    GradeScore
A+97% or more, with no failures
    A90–96%
    B80–89%
    C70–79%
    D60–69%
    FBelow 60%

    What counts

    Shown but not scored

DNSSEC, IPv6, CAA, Referrer-Policy, DMARC report address, MTA-STS, TLS reporting, BIMI, and differing website addresses between resolvers, which is normal for sites on a CDN.

    What we receive

When you scan a domain, the name you entered is sent to our server, which runs the checks. Results are cached for up to an hour so repeat scans are fast. Cached results contain only public information about the domain.

    Who our server contacts

To run the checks, our server queries public DNS, the domain registry (RDAP or WHOIS), the public resolvers at Cloudflare, Google and Quad9, and the domain’s own web server. Those parties see a request from our server, not from you.

    Your IP address

Our web server sees your IP address, like any website. We use it to limit how many scans one visitor can run per minute, and the rate-limit counter is discarded within two minutes.

    Stored preferences

Your theme setting is saved in your browser’s local storage. Clearing site data removes it.

    Advertising

Ads are delivered through Bigheim Technologies, LLC’s advertising service at ads.bigheim.com. Ad requests include standard connection information, such as your IP address and browser headers. The service records ad impressions and clicks. The domains you scan are not included in ad requests. Clicking an ad takes you to the advertiser’s site, where their privacy policy applies.

    Terms

    Using EthRunner

EthRunner is a free tool that checks publicly available information about a domain. By using it, you agree to these terms.

    Acceptable use

Use EthRunner for troubleshooting and research. Don’t use it to bulk-scan domains, automate requests, or probe systems you have no reason to examine. Scans are rate-limited, and we may block abusive traffic.

    Results

Checks reflect what our server saw at the time of the scan and may be cached. Grades are a quick guide, not a security audit, and may be incomplete or inaccurate.

    Third-party content

Advertisements and linked sites are run by others. We aren’t responsible for their content, products or practices.

    Provided as is

The service is provided without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, EthRunner is not liable for damages arising from its use.

    Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version.

    Placement

    Creative format

Supply a 600 × 500 image plus a headline, short description, destination link, and call to action. On wide screens, the two sponsored placements flank a permanent EthRunner advertising panel and fill the full available width. The row stacks on smaller screens.

    EthRunner styling

Artwork uses our monochrome filter, scanlines, and subtle signal-glitch effects to match the station. Original colors appear on hover or keyboard focus. Reduced-motion preferences are respected.
